Summer Card Camp, Week Three, Day Two

I really enjoyed making my card for today. The lesson was about finger inking. I am pleased with the outcome and will use this technique again.

Summer Card Camp, Week Three, Day One

I was really inspired by the colors this week. I was able to get right to work after dinner tonight and complete my card. It all just came together quickly.

Summer Card Camp, Week Two, Day Five

I made it through another week and two more left to go. I am beginning to really like the homework on Friday because we are given 5 or 6 new color combos to choose from. Having a large selection makes it a bit easier to find just the right paper to use.

Stamps: Heidi Among The Flowers, C.C. Designs and Fringed Phrases, CTMH

I used the following Copic markers

Hair: E11, E15, E18
Skin: E00, E02, E11
Dress: R81, R83, R85
Flowers: YR21, YR23
Grass: G21, G24

Here is the color combo that I used (minus the blue):

Summer Card Camp, Week Two, Day Four

We learned about the design principle of Contrast and how it applies to cardmaking, with an emphasis on patterned paper. Using the principle we learned we were to create a card using the color combo of the week and one of the sketches they posted.

Summer Card Camp, Week Two, Day Two

I gave it my best shot and it still wasn't much to be proud of! Hopefully one day I will perfect this technique. It was a reverse embossed image. I pressed the whole Versamark ink pad on my paper, then applied clear embossing powder to the area. Next I applied Versamark to a stamp and stamped it over the already embossed area to remove the power from the paper. Then I used the heat gun to melt the embossing powder. This left the stamped image open to color. One of the biggest problems was that the stamp didn't remove all of the powder where I stamped so the coloring area was not really a very good surface to color.

Week Two, Day 3

For day 2 we learned a new technique. I tried it a few times and still wasn't happy with the results. I will give it another try this weekend.

On day 3 the designers created various cards using the color combo for this week. I thought I would create another one as well.

Summer Card Camp, Week Two, Day One

I'm getting off to a good start completing and posting my card on the day it was assigned. Here is the new color combo for the week.

I looked at the colors on my iphone and didn't realize that they were a bit different when viewing them on my computer.

The paper I used was from The Celebration Pack by DCWV. The stamps are Piece of Cake and Thoughtful Seasons from CTMH. I used Copic markers in the following colors: YR65, Y15, RV17 and YG17.

Summer Card Camp, Week One, Day Five

Finally, day Five. Just in time to start the new week of cards tomorrow :)

For day five they added several additional color combos to choose from. I am SO glad because I have had enough of the previous one after making four cards using those colors. This is the color combo I used this go around.

I used paper from Linen Closet by DCWV and added dies using Nestibilities Lables Eight and the flower die by Joy Crafts. The stamp is CTMH's Treasure Life.

Summer Card Camp, Week One, Day Four

On day four they discussed sketches and design. Symmetrical, Asymmetrical, and Radial Balance. I chose Asymmetrical Balance for my card.

I used CTMH's Hooligans paper. The stamp is CTMH Cherished Flourishes using Pansy Purple ink. I added buttons by the Paper Studio.

Summer Card Camp, Week One, Day Three

On day three several of the designers posted additional examples using this weeks colors. I also created another card using them.

I used DCWV's paper from Flower Shower and CTMH's Hooligans. I used Nestabilities Lables Eleven and Butterfly dies by Joy Crafts. The stamp was CTMH's Thoughtful Seasons using CTMH ink in Hollyhock.

Summer Card Camp, Week One, Day Two

I really enjoyed learning how to make a window card. I cut the center of my card front using Nestibilities, Lables Eleven die. Then I covered the back side with clear plastic and stamped a sentiment using black Stayz-On ink. Then I stamped floral images on the paper behind the window using CTMH inks, Pansy Purple, Sorbet, Hollyhock and Juniper. I used CTMH's Treasure Life stamp. The paper was from DCWV's Flower Shower pack.

Summer Card Camp, Week One, Day One

Well, I really got myself in over my head this time!!! I committed to a 4 week online card camp which will keep me very busy for the rest of this month. I have to confess that I didn't really read much about it before deciding to participate with my friend Christy. It wasn't until this past Monday that I realized I it entailed creating a card every day on Monday through Friday! I wasn't able to do a single one during the week and at the urging of my friend, Christy, decided to follow through and make them all on Saturday. I am going to do my best to keep up better this coming week.

The colors of the week are a purple, pink, sky blue, bright orange and white.

This is the homework for Day 1 (last Monday). We were to create a card using the colors they posted. I used Paper from Close to My Heart's (CTMH) Hooligans and DCWV's Flower Shower. I stamped the card using the CTMH stamp, Cherished Flourishes and the flowers were cut from a die by Joy Crafts.

New Copic Technique

June Copic Club was awesome! Jessica taught us an really cool technique. First we stamped an image with Versamark ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then using Copic marker colors BV08, BV11, RV19, RV55, YR21 and YR23 we colored just the embossed areas with the various colors. After all of the images were colored in we took our colorless marker and pulled the ink off of the image onto the paper. It created a beautiful water colored effect. I love the look, I only wish it didn't destroy my marker tip so badly.
